Clinical trials of new medicines tend to get the headlines. But much of the research that improves care day to day happens inside our health services, where clinicians, care teams and patients test better ways of delivering care and generate evidence that changes practice.

HRCI's Irish Health Research Forum set out to make that work more visible. Through impact stories and discussion with leaders across the health and research system, the morning looked at why this kind of research matters, what helps it flourish, and how Ireland can better support the people doing it. Rather than cataloguing barriers, the focus was on research that has already made a difference.

In short

Research done within everyday care is often where practice changes first, and it needs time, support and recognition to thrive.
