Dr Keshav Sharma

It is with great shock and sadness that we have learned of the untimely death at the age of 39 of Dr Keshav Sharma on the 11/01/2021. Keshav, originally from Trinidad and Tobago, went to medical school at University College Dublin and completed his specialist training in respiratory medicine also in Ireland. In his training he worked in Galway University Hospitals, St James Hospital and St Vincent’s University Hospital.  For the last 18 months he was working as a Respiratory and General Medical Physician in Wexford General Hospital. “Kesh” loved Ireland and was a much beloved figure by his colleagues who remember a fantastic clinician who is  unfailingly kind and lovely to his patients. He is also remembered as a great and natural teacher who taught thousands of medical students and NCHDs and whose loss to medical education is immeasurable. He was a long-standing and very supportive member of the ITS. Kesh will be sorely missed by his many friends and colleagues across the respiratory community. Ireland has lost a great Doctor.

The Irish Thoracic Society would like to pass on our sincere condolences to his mother and brother.

May he rest in peace.

On behalf of the Irish Thoracic Society.
