Oral Awards

1st Prize:

Dr Irene Oglesby (RCSI) – Modelling Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Lung Disease Using Gene-Edited iPSC-Derived Alveolar Epithelial Cells

Runner-up:

Dr Sharee Basdeo (TCD – School of Medicine) – Vorinostat as a host-directed therapy for Tuberculosis; manipulating epigenetics to boost human alveolar macrophage function and promote polyfunctional T cell responses

 

Poster Awards

1st Prize:

Ms Rachel Martin (St Michael’s Hospital, Dun Laoghaire) – Evaluating the Clinical Use and Economic Impact of Humidified Oxygen in Patients Requiring Low-Flow Oxygen Delivery: A Single Centre Prospective Analysis

Runner-up:

Mr Kevin Gallagher (Queen’s University, Belfast) – Cigarette and E-Cigarette effects on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and A549 cells

 

Award for Best Poster by a Respiratory Physiologistkindly supported by Direct Medical Vivisol:

Ms Geraldine Nolan (St Vincent’s University Hospital) – Initiation on Positive Airway Pressure Therapy (PAP) in an Irish Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) Patient Population

 

Award for Best Paediatric Presentation:

Ms Lesley Kennedy (Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children) – Safe Asthma Discharge Care in Children
