Dr. Robert Smyth and Dr. Breda Cushen, both SpRs in Respiratory Medicine, have been awarded the Irish Thoracic Society A.Menarini Pharmaceuticals ATS bursaries.
These awards were open to SpRs on the Specialist Registrar Training Programmes in Respiratory Medicine or Paediatrics with an interest in Respiratory Medicine.
There were two awards, one based on an evaluation of abstracts submitted to the ATS and the other was awarded to the Irish Thoracic Society Educational Officer 2017.
Dr. Cushen was awarded the bursary for best abstract submitted to the ATS and Dr. Smyth was awarded for his role as ITS Educational Officer.
