The Irish Thoracic Society is delighted to invite applications for 3 Educational Bursaries for the British Thoracic Society Winter Meeting 2024 which will be held from 27th – 29th November in London, kindly supported by GSK.

Bursaries will be to the value of €3000 each.

Closing date for applications is the 13th of September 2024.

The bursary can include an BTS Winter Meeting registration fee, travel cost or lodging.  Please see the terms and conditions for more details.

Terms & Conditions

• The bursary is for healthcare professionals (HCPs) only.
• The award recipients will be announced in September 2024.
• ITS will consider in the selection of the Attendee (s):
  • Healthcare professionals who can show scientific interest in the Winter Meeting, or can show benefits to their patients from attending the Winter Meeting;
  • Healthcare professionals who are participating in the Winter Meeting as presenters, or otherwise have actively participated in original research or scientific work that is being presented at the Winter Meeting;
  • Healthcare professionals who can share learning with a larger community after the Winter Meeting because they teach in colleges or postgraduate units, or are part of a larger network of healthcare professionals anticipating information from the Meeting.
  • Have not received a Bursary from ITS in the last 12 months.  
• Funding can be used for the following:
  • any registration fee charged generally to attendees of the Winter Meeting;
  • reasonable and actual travel costs between the Winter Meeting and the Attendee’s residence; and
  • reasonable and actual lodging for dates of Winter Meeting attendance.
