Researcher – Respiratory Health of the Nation

Job - Fixed Term Contract - Researcher

A new edition of Respiratory Health of the Nation is being commissioned to provide a deeper understanding of respiratory health in Ireland, enabling greater investment and strategic focus.

 

ITS is seeking a part-time researcher to support the delivery of this important report. We are seeking a researcher who has: 

  • An in-depth understanding of respiratory diseases and prevention. 

  • Knowledge of population health metrics and epidemiological methods.

  • Awareness of health determinants, risk factors, and health inequalities.

  • Ability to work independently and deliver according to agreed schedule

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

This is a part-time hourly paid contract position and the hours are flexible dependent on existing commitments with a minimum of 30 hours to be delivered each month.  The fixed-term contract will run from February 2026 – September 2026.

Key Responsibilities : 

  • Conduct a literature review that includes a wide range of sources including peer-reviewed journals and national and international database. 
  • Source supporting data from across the respiratory community and broader health community in Ireland.  
  • Consult with subject matter experts with the purpose of integrating diverse perspectives and insights into the report. 
  • Benchmarking exercise against selected countries.  
  • Summarise analysis and findings 
  • Co-author the report for publication in September 2026.
