Abstract: Scedosporium‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌fungal‌ ‌infection,‌ ‌most‌ ‌commonly‌ ‌seen‌ ‌in‌ ‌immunocompromised‌ ‌hosts,‌ ‌with‌ ‌
an‌ ‌overall‌ ‌six‌ ‌month‌ ‌mortality‌ ‌rate‌ ‌of‌ ‌55%‌ ‌in‌ ‌transplant‌ ‌recipients‌ ‌and‌ ‌up‌ ‌to‌ ‌100%‌ ‌in‌ ‌
disseminated‌ ‌or‌ ‌mediastinal‌ ‌disease‌1‌.‌ ‌Risk‌ ‌factors‌ ‌include‌ ‌solid‌ ‌organ‌ ‌transplant‌ ‌and‌ ‌cystic‌ ‌
fibrosis‌ ‌(CF).‌ ‌A‌ ‌37‌ ‌year‌ ‌old‌ ‌female,‌ ‌post‌ ‌lung‌ ‌transplant‌ ‌for‌ ‌CF,‌ ‌presented‌ ‌with‌ ‌upper‌ ‌limb‌ ‌
swelling.‌ ‌CT‌ ‌Thorax‌ ‌demonstrated‌ ‌extensive‌ ‌bone‌ ‌and‌ ‌soft‌ ‌tissue‌ ‌abnormality‌ ‌involving‌ ‌the‌ ‌
sternum.‌ ‌Biopsy‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌mass‌ ‌cultured‌ ‌Scedosporium.‌ ‌PET-CT‌ ‌and‌ ‌Echocardiogram‌ ‌did‌ ‌not‌ ‌
demonstrate‌ ‌disseminated‌ ‌disease.‌ ‌Voriconazole‌ ‌was‌ ‌commenced‌ ‌with‌ ‌symptomatic‌ ‌
improvement.‌ ‌ ‌
