Professor Fergal O’Gara, BIOMERIT Research Centre, School of Microbiology, University College Cork, is the recipient of the Irish Thoracic Society Research Grant 2018, awarded under the MRCG/HRB Joint Funding Scheme and supported by GSK through an unrestricted educational grant. The title of the research project is ‘ Evaluating a novel macrolide based early intervention in the clinical management of chronic infections and inflammation in Cystic Fibrosis’
