The Irish Thoracic Society Case Study Forum took place on Thursday evening, 1st December, and is a key event in programme of the Annual Scientific Meeting.
Best Oral Presentation:
Dr.Deirdre Kavanagh, Cork University Hospital received the prize for Best Case Study Oral Presentation for her presentation titled, “An Unusual cause of Orthopnea”.
Dr.David Quigley, St.James’s Hospital received the prize for Runner Up Best Case Study Oral Presentation for his presentation titled “Why did she have a Chest X-Ray?”
Best Poster Presentation
Ms Erica Bajar, Mayo University Hospital received the prize for Best Case Study Poster Presentation for her poster titled: “Application of surgical mask over ambulatory oxygen interfaces improves oxygen availability and exercise potential in severe IPF”. Erica is pictured with Dr. Nazia Chadhuri, University of Ulster Medical School.
Dr. Louise Byrne, St.James’s Hospital received the prize for Runner Up for Best Case Study Poster Presentation for her poster titled “Pause and Consider, It may be OSA”.
Dr. Niall O’Rourke, Trinity College Dublin, received the prize for Joint Third Runner Up for Best Case Study Poster Presentation for his poster titled “Modified blowhole incision and a 3-sided flutter valve dressing to manage severe surgical emphysema”.
