The Irish Thoracic Society is delighted to invite applications for six Educational Bursaries for the European Respiratory Society Congress (ERS) 2024 which will be held from 7–11 September in Vienna, kindly supported by GSK.
Bursaries will be to the value of €1000 each.
The bursary can include an ERS registration fee, travel cost or lodging. Please see the terms and conditions for more details.

Terms & Conditions
- The bursary is for healthcare professionals (HCPs) only.
- The award recipients will be announced in August 2024.
- ITS will consider in the selection of the Attendee (s):
- Healthcare professionals who can show scientific interest in the Congress, or can show benefits to their patients from attending the Congress;
- Healthcare professionals who are participating in the Congress as presenters, or otherwise have actively participated in original research or scientific work that is being presented at the Congress;
- Healthcare professionals who can share learning to a larger community after the Congress because they teach in colleges or postgraduate units, or are part of a larger network of healthcare professionals anticipating information from the Congress.
- Funding can be used for the following:
- any registration fee charged generally to attendees of the Congress;
- reasonable and actual travel costs between the Congress and the Attendee’s residence; and
- reasonable and actual lodging for dates of Congress attendance.
